The Body Shop Bridlesmith event
A glimpse into my world down here...
I have only been blogging properly for a few months now but even in such a small amount of time I have had some amazing opportunities, the most recent of all was that last night I was able to attend the first ever bloggers event held by The Body Shop on Bridlesmith Gate.
If you weren't aware The Body Shop have got some amazing new products at the moment and they wanted an excuse to show them off.
I have to say that I was really spoilt for choice, it is so rare these days that I go into a shop like The Body Shop without a set product in mind. It really did feel like a kid in a candy store.
With this in mind I did also find it hard to resist a few purchases that I want to share with you.
I will admit that I could have easily looked over this product if it hadn't been for one of my fellow bloggers at the event. They were showing me how much dead skin was peeling off the back of their hand and how soft the skin was afterwards. Sounds disgusting doesn't it, but believe me this stuff is amazing.
It was so good that as soon as I got back last night I removed my make up to see it in full action on my face. A couple of things that I do want to mention if you are thinking about getting this yourself;
- I will need to buy a gentler toner to use after this, I currently use Pixi Glow Tonic which is 5% Glycolic so it did sting a little
- As this is a peel make sure that you use a good moisturiser afterwards preferably one that has SPF
Did you know pollution particles are 20 times smaller than your pores? That means that our pores can get clogged easily and if you spend more time in cities like Nottingham you are at more risk.
This clogging can also prematurely age your skin, and there was once a time when I thought I would age graciously, but that has completely gone out of the window these days.
I will also say that after this had been splashed across Twitter and Instagram that I had to try it, yes I am that easily lead. That and it would seem that I have a slight face mask addiction as you will see next.
Yes I bought two face masks! But I do have a reason I promise.
I am only a few weeks from turning 30 and at the moment it isn't bothering me (btw on the note of my Birthday please read this post) what is bothering me is that I am still getting spots! Now I know that is all hormonal but I really getting fed up of it.
After discussing it with one of the lovely consultants, she recommended using it only on the problem areas to clear them up.
For those of you how have read my national lipstick day post you will know that I have had a huge clear out after learning that many of them weren't vegan. Well I moved onto my eye shadows and discovered that none of my palettes were vegan so I have had to move them on.
Now I don't wear a lot of eye shadow, I am much more a lipstick sort of girl but I did feel lost not being able to have that option.
The Body Shop have the option to create your own palettes (yes similar to that other company but they test on animals so we wont be mentioning them any more) in either singles, fours or eights. They are reasonably priced as well, an individual eye shadow is £5 however if you buy 5 you get 3 free plus the case to put them in. There is a similar offer on the quad palettes but I'm sorry that I can't remember the offer.
I was prepared to make up my own quad, unfortunately they didn't seem to have any of the cases available so I went with a ready made quad instead.
So there you have it, my mini Body Shop haul, never done a haul post before...
As I mentioned I am getting older, and I do want to take better care of my skin so I would love to hear if there are any Body Shop products that you love, just pop them in the comments below.
