3 cute gym hairstyles

A glimpse into my world down here...

For those of you who follow me on Instagram and Twitter you will know that I have been spending a large amount of time at Hotpod Yoga Derby, and for those of you who don't know what that is check out my post here.

The exercise has really stepped up a gear with some weeks I have been to not only Hotpod Yoga but Karate and Piloxing Barre, I know I can't be normal and just hit the gym can I?

I have loved every moment of it, and when the sweat is pouring I know that I am doing something right. However it would seem that the traditional tie my hair up in a pony tail isn't going to cut it any more, by the end of whichever workout I look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards.

So I have been trying a few new ways of getting my hair out of my face and I wanted to share them with you. Background then; my hair is about shoulder length (or just under depending on when my next appointment is) and I have layers cut into it as it is super thick.

This one has been my "oh shit I've got to leave now" gym hairstyle. Not too dissimilar to your traditional ponytail, it looks a little different but also keeps hair of various lengths out of the way so you can keep going. The downfall of this style is that I always seem to get the second bobble right in the middle of my head, which is just a little uncomfortable as soon as I need to lie on the floor.

I could be easily mistaken for a small child if I were to wear my hair in Pippi Longstockings style plaits so rather than going all the way down to the very ends of my hair I join them together at the base of my neck. Occasionally I wear this for work as well if my hair could really do with a wash but I haven't quiet got the time. Once I even had a year 8 student ask me how I did it!

Now this one is a little more time consuming, and I have no doubt that someone with longer hair would be able to achieve a much more impressive bun at the top. However I love this one because I just feel like that I have put a little more effort in, no I'm not trying to impress anyone but I feel like I have taken the time to do a some preparation.

So there you go, my three tired and tested ways of keeping my hair out of my face. I would love to hear how you style your hair; maybe you have super short hair that doesn't need anything or you could have hair that gives Repunzel a run for her money. Either way let me know in the comments below.
